The MJMC Distance Course (Master of Journalism and Mass Communication) is a post-graduate course that has been specifically designed for those learners who are interested in pursuing a career in the media, journalism, public relations, and digital communication. This course enables students to pursue their education at their own convenience while handling work, family, or other responsibilities. The MJMC Distance Course is offered by UGC-DEB recognized universities in the distance learning mode and provides both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the media.
MJMC Distance Course Overview
MJMC is an acronym for Master of Journalism and Mass Communication. It is a postgraduate course that helps students acquire high-level knowledge in the field of media and communication. The course focuses on major disciplines like reporting and writing, media ethics and law, digital media, broadcast journalism, public relations, and media management. Students are trained to think critically and acquire research and practical skills in the field of media.
In distance education mode, the courses are offered by a combination of printed study materials, online learning platforms, e-resources, and learning management systems. Many institutions offer recorded lectures, discussion forums, virtual assignments, and online submissions, which allow learners to access the material at any time and from any location. Assignments and exams are semester-wise and conducted at specified centers, accompanied by counseling sessions if available.
This flexible format is designed for working professionals, new entrants, career switchers, and those who cannot attend regular classroom programs. The format enables learners to manage their commitments alongside their studies.
MJMC distance learning courses are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and follow guidelines by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB). Degrees awarded by UGC-DEB recognized institutions are recognized for employment, further studies, and higher education like Ph.D. admission, and are accepted for employment in media organizations, corporate communication, public relations, and digital content.
